The speakers will talk about different use cases that require OpenFlow and OVSDB protocols to work in tandem to realize those use cases. They will talk about use cases from OpenStack and OPNFV domains and will go in details of how these use cases work end to end & how these two projects play the key role in it. This session will give a perspective to the user about how they can develop innovative OpenDaylight applications to create SDN solutions using Open vSwitch (OVS).

This session will be structured as follows:
  • A quick overview of the OpenFlow & OVSDB projects and their architecture in OpenDaylight
  • Example use cases including NetVirt, VPN Service, SFC, etc.
  • New developments and potential areas of exploration

Abhijit is an OpenDaylight Technical Steering Committee (TSC) member. He is the Project Technical Lead (PTL) for the OpenDaylight OpenFlow plugin project. He is technical lead for Ericsson OpenDaylight efforts and is a Principal Architect in the Technology department for Ericsson's SDN unit. Anil Vishnoi is a Principal Software Engineer at Brocade R&D, US. He has been an active participant in OpenDaylight community since the inception of the project.
