OpenDaylight as a Fun Tool for Hobbyists & Hackerspaces - Patrick Laurin, Inocybe Technologies

OpenDaylight is usually seen as a huge and complex tool, part of a global reality shift for network providers, telecoms and cloud industries. But what about that hobbyist kid that loves to hack around software and electronics? He's proud to use things like Arduino and Raspberry Pi. He's proud to share his work on Github and backup his photos in his own private cloud. He's even running his personal blog in a Docker container. Why isn't this kid hacking around OpenDaylight? I think that OpenDaylight has the potential to be explored and used by hackerspaces communities and the common hobbyist. Those people are often great sources for innovation and game-changing ideas. The goal of this presentation is to show that OpenDaylight can used as a simple and fun tool and that it can benefit by reaching a more global audience.
